This past weekend, I went to check out the Cornucopia CRUSH Gala Grand Tasting in Whistler. It was my first time at this all things wine and food festival, and although I wasn’t there long enough to see any of the other seminars and tastings that took place at restaurants and the conference centre, here is an iPhoto tour of my experience. I will definitely be back next year!
My favourite food stations for the evening included the charcuterie tasting represented by the wonderful chefs at Nita Lake Lodge, and the beautiful veggie skewers provided by Windset Farms. There was also a high heel made out of Rogers’ chocolate that was auctioned off by the end of the night!
In terms of wine, I enjoyed many (mostly red) varietals, and my absolute favourite of the evening (when I was still able to taste anything), was a 2007 Petite Syrah available from Cupcake Vineyards in California.
Look forward to more information to register for next year’s Cornucopia Festival, which will take place mid-November 2011.
