No, it is not the way Sangria is done in Spain at all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sangria

The two times I've been there the service was sloooow, expensive for what you get and according to my friends from Spain living here in Vancouver the tapas are very poorly done compared to what they have there in Spain. These are very basic ones not to be perfectly cooked and presented, what is not the case at cafe barcelona.
Do they have a real spanish cook?

Although it is quite a mission impossible to find a good spanish restaurant in Vancouver La Bodega is still the best one (if you don't order paella).

Well, I have to disagree with the review. I have lived in the south of Spain for a few years, and after visiting Cafe Barcelona last week, I was relieved to see that there's finally a good Spanish tapas place in Vancouver!
Most of the dishes I tried, along with a Spanish friend and his girlfriend, were pretty similar to what you can find at any tapas joint in Sevilla or even the Basque Country.
My Spanish friends kept on describing it like their new home away from home...
I'm surprised to read this review and latter comment, I think they don't do justice at all to the place.
I went again during the World Cup final and it was another amazing experience to see the crowds chanting and screaming when Spain scored...the atmosphere is definitely there!! I will definitely go back.

I thought the food was terrible and definitely did not meet my expectations. They seemed to want to pour their bechamel sauce over everything, which wasn't really their strong suit to begin with. The menu had promise, but it was poorly executed. I would never go back.
