I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience! I haven't seen the incense burning before in my likely hundred times of going there. It's definitely a bit of a hole in the wall though. If you're looking for something different, try Chau on Robson for Vietnamese food.

Hi Victoria, Went out of our way to eat here based on your
recomendation. It was absolutely disgusting! Filthy! Gross! Barely
edible. I am not to waste food and I had to leave 2/3 of my meal
behind. The place was really dirty, they were burning some pretty
pungent incense right at the front door- the stink permeated
through the whole place. Then the waitress was coming by with the
really gross bussing cart to clear tables. You know she didn't wash
her hands after clearing tables and bringing you your food. The
whole experience really turned my stomach and needless to say, I
will not be going back. We must have been in two different places.
Thanks.

Lila, you're right! It is Brian - I don't know who I was confusing him with there. I'm not sure on his wife's name either. Anyone?

I love going to Cambie Vietnamese, and I love how Richard makes up nicknames for you after a few repeat visits. I'm craving some pho right now!

[...] Although we couldn’t quite finish off everything on our plates, we still made some room for dessert and took another look at the long list of sweet treats available. I picked a couple and we decided to share those as well. The first one was the Iced Rainbow Drink, which I’ve had before. This version didn’t come with coconut milk in it though, and I think it would’ve been much better off if it did. The juice wasn’t all that flavourful, but I really enjoyed the small pieces of jackfruit and pandan jellies within. There were also a few too many beans for my taste. Next time I get this, I will stick to the one at the Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant.
